브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 최창희 공영홈쇼핑 대표가 류호정 정의당 의원의 질의 도중 "어이"라고 발언한 것과 관련, "허위라고 말했다", "혼잣말이었다" 등 해명을 내놓다 결국 사과했다.
지난 19일 국회 산업통상자원중소벤처기업위원회 국정감사에서 최창희 공영홈쇼핑 대표가 류호정 정의당 의원의 질의 도중에 "어이"라고 발언해 국정감사 태도 논란이 일었다.
제21대 국회 최연소 의원인 류 의원은 1992년생으로 1949년생인 최 대표보다 43살 더 어린게 사실이나, 국민을 대표하는 국회의원을 대하는 태도로는 부적절하다는 지적이 제기된다.
류 의원은 이날 오후 질의에서 이를 다시 언급하며 "제가 '사장님 친구도 아닌데'라는 생각이 들었다"며 "직원들에게 언론사에 ‘단순 감탄사였다’는 식으로 정정 보도하라고 지시했다고 하는데 사실인가"라고 물었다.
이에 최 대표는 "아니다. 그냥 (어이가 아닌)‘허위’라고 했던 것 같은데 잘 모르겠다. 마스크를 쓰고 있어서 문맥상 그런 것 같은데 만약 오해가 있었다면 사과드린다"고 했다.
다시 류 의원은 "그럴수록 구차해지는 건 제가 아닌 것 같다"며 "국정감사를 해보니까 서로 말을 끊는 경우가 종종 생기지만 누구도 ‘어이’하면서 말을 끊지는 않는다. 여기 있는 의원들 사이에서 그런 일이 발생했다고 상상해봐라. 있을 수 없는 일이다"라고 꼬집었다.
그러면서 "국민에게 답변한다는 존중하는 태도로 해주시길 바란다"고 했다.

이에 대해 공영홈쇼핑측에선 해명자료를 통해 최 대표의 답변 중 ‘어이’ 발언은 호칭이 아닌, 감탄조사와 같은 혼잣말 표현이라고 밝혔다. 류호정 의원을 부르는 호칭의 표현이 아니었으며, 질의에 답변하는 과정에서 나온 감탄 조사와 같은 혼자말이었다고 해명했다.
정의당 측에서도 즉각 반박했다. 정의당 원내대변인인 장혜영 의원은 오후 브리핑에서 “최 대표가 국정감사에서 우리 당 류 의원에게 ‘어이’라고 부르는 무례를 저질렀다”며 “류 의원뿐 아니라, 국민의 대표기관인 국회 전체를 낮잡아 본 것”이라고 비판했다. 장 의원은 이어 “최 대표가 사과했지만, 애초에 일어나지 말았어야 할 일”이라며 “다시는 이러한 행태가 결코 반복돼서는 안 된다”고도 지적했다.
한편 최창희 대표는 제일기획 광고국장과 삼성물산 이사대우, 삼성자동차 마케팅실 이사, 크리에이티브에어 대표이사, 초대 광고인협회장 등을 거쳤다. 문재인 대선 캠프에서는 홍보고문으로 활동하며 선거 슬로건 '사람이 먼저다'를 만든 바 있다.
